Draw your readymade curtains at dusk to combat two more energy price hikes

Homeowners concerned about upcoming price hikes may want to start closing their readymade curtains at dusk.
The Energy Saving Trust recommends drawing curtains at dusk as this will prevent heat escaping from draughts under windows, meaning radiators can be turned off overnight.
This could be useful advice for E.ON and SSE customers, as both companies will be raising their prices this month.
From September 13th, E.ON will be implementing an 18 per cent price increase in gas and an 11 per cent rise in electricity.
Meanwhile, SSE will be imposing its 19 per cent hike in gas and 12 per cent rise in electricity from September 14th.
Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at price comparison site uSwitch.com, said: "Families are coming under financial pressure from every direction and these price hikes as we head into winter are going to push some even closer to the edge.
"The impact of this recent round of price rises on households could be immense with more rationing their energy use in an attempt to keep a lid on the cost."
